*Damian smiled. For some reason, he liked this ‘Walter’. They had done nothing more than hold, even by normal standards, minimal conversation. However, Damian already had a firm grasp on this man’s personality, or so he thought. He looked over a Gabriel, who was practically severing his tongue off to prevent the venomous reply he so wished to unleash. Damian knew the only thing holding him back, was the conversation they previously had. He turned back to face Walter Sullivan, who seemed to be quite pleased with himself, and thus Damian hoped he would be ready for his… prerequisites.*
”First, you must travel to the cave of Mortiss, in the mountains on the outskirts of Ye… There, tell Mortiss about your second prerequisite, which is, a task…”
*Damian, without any warning, walked past Walter, towards the palace balcony. He waited for a moment, scanning the horizon, before continuing.*
”There, too the east, is a forest. There is a group of, rebels, who wish to do harm to our city. I found this information out when I was in the forest the other night… attending to business. You are Mortiss, are to go and eliminate these rebels. From what my scouts have reported since, they have a feeble force of only 25 men and apparently, a well trained tiger. I’ll need proof of your success. I’ll leave it to the two of you to decide what enough proof is…”
*With that said Damian walked back over to Walter and halted, less than a foot away from him, and stared him in the eyes. With a smirk, he spoke to the men in a low tone, son only the two of then could hear.*
”Then, and only then, will you get your question. However, be cautious of your wording… I don’t take intrusion lightly.”
*As Damian was about to walk away, a guard approached the two men, from seemingly no where. Damian was far too involved with the man before him to even hear his approach, and Gabriel was still too busy staring at the stone floor.*
[Guard] – ”Prime Minister, there is a man at the Gates who wishes an audience with the Lord or Lady. Shall I let him through?”
”Yes, send him through. Inform him that he won’t be seeing the Lord or Lady, but myself.”
*With that said, Damian turned and nodded to the palace guards, who promptly opened the doors. Waiting a moment for Gabriel to come to his sense, the pair entered the palace without another word to anyone. The doors, however, remained open, waiting the arrival of the officer at the city gates.*

Damian wasn’t as easily read, not that Sullivan had been attempting to learn about the man. All Sullivan needed was a name, creed, and reason to let him live or die. Anything more than that was merely icing on the cake, so to speak. Damian’s creed, it appeared, was Wisdom. Or the Giver of Wisdom – Despair. He was unsure at the moment, but it more than pointed to The Receiver of Wisdom. Sullivan merely noted Gabriel’s stance, his face. Emotions ever present before Sullivan. He had no apparent creed…perhaps Void? Or is he merely worthy of being one of the Ten Hearts? Sullivan would know in due time – but before he even plotted against these men, or even learned if they were worthy of the life bestowed onto them, Sullivan had a task to complete.
“A cave? Is that not a little…uncivilized?” Not that he truly cared, it just seemed odd for a man that was paid by the state and country of…this ‘Wei’ kingdom to live in a cave. Sullivan straightened himself, his hand gripping the makeshift spear slightly tighter, Sullivan’s knuckles turning a shade of red, often present when one forces their strength onto something. “Why must I have this…Mortiss’ help in putting down these sinners? My men and I could wash through them like wildfire – kill them without them even knowing I, or my men, were there…” Twenty five men was enough to complete the ritual…but they were nothing more than common bandits – not worthy of even staking the Holy Mother’s thirst. Perhaps there was a figure among them that would be, or perhaps Mortiss himself? Well – he’d bring back Mortiss alive, if only to prove to this…faltering light, this shell that called itself an empire, that he was loyal.
Before actually getting an answer as to why Mortiss was such an important figure that he’d need the…barbarians help, Sullivan turned on his heel and began to walk toward a large, somewhat thick, thatch of tree of which his troops had made camp. His men help a symbol of peace, so the Wei men wouldn’t mistake them as outlaws. So many cavalry, as that was truly Sullivan’s specially, Horse Archers, were among the scattered ranks of the men of the East. Parthia is from whence they came and if Sullivan had his way, he’d be done in these war torn lands before a single one of them died. But, he knew fate was fickle – and already knew that that wouldn’t be the case. Casualties are expected in any form of battle, and Sullivan was more than willing to sacrifice it all to awaken the Holy Mother…

Slowly walking towards the Palace, he looked around, taking off his red helmet, holding it with his right hand and looking towards the guards, who stood by the open doors. He quietly kept going until he saw a shadow ahead in the Palace.
Walking a little further, he bowed, and, taking a breath he began to speak.
I came to offer my services to your lord...[/b]
Taking a step or two backwards, he waited an answer

*Damian & Gabriel were waiting for the arrival of the officer in the main meeting area in the palace, both choosing to stand rather than sit on the plush furniture. Gabriel was finding the silence awkward, and couldn’t help by inquire to Damian about his plan. He had known Damian now for many years, since they were children. However, Damian continued to surprise him at every stage of his life. Only he knew the true age and name of the one everyone calls “Damian”.*
”…Why risk it? Couldn’t you just kill the guy now, instead of putting Wei in danger…?”
*Damian redirected his view from the intricate ceiling designs to Gabriel at his right. He knew Gabriel was never one for making plans, but even he had too see that killing a man, for no apparent reason, didn’t look good to the people or the rest of the country.*
”Because, I can’t just have him killed, Gabriel. Firstly, it will deter people from joining us, in fear that we execute people without cause. Secondly, I know he’s up to something, but even so… Walter can still be useful to us, even if he has alternative motives. I just wish I knew what they were…”
*Before the subject could be further discussed, footsteps began to echo through the corridor that led to the meeting room. Not long after the echoes made their way to the ears of Damian & Gabriel, the form of Zhuge Jiao appeared in the entrance. He seemed nervous, almost. Damian was puzzled by this. Maybe he was just timid by nature… That will have to be changed in time.*
”Ah, so you must be the warrior who wishes to join Wei. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the grand city of Ye, and further the palace. Have you a name, soldier?”

The hold he had on his helm got a little stronger, as he knew he had forgotten to introduce himself. After Damian finished speaking, he simply smiled.
I am Zhuge Jiao from Jingzhou.[/b]
He didn't add much more to his little speech for he indeed was nervous. After all, before he decided to try his luck as an officer he was just a low rank soldier fighting the Yellow Turbans.

*Damian watched Zhuge Jiao closely, noticing his nervousness, however, completely sympathetic with him. In a gesture to ease some of the stress and nerves, Damian stepped forward and placed both hands on Zhuge Jiao’s shoulders. He looked the man in the eyes and spoke, authoritatively yet in a friendly manner.*
”My name is Damian, the Prime Minister and I welcome you to Wei, Zhuge Jiao. Please, feel free to look around the palace and the city and become acquainted with it. You will probably spend a vast majority of your time here.”
(OOC: Bleh, forgive the uncreativeness of this post. Just wasn't feeling it.)

Zhuge Jiao smiled, his face now, instead of giving away he was nervous, returned to it's natural expression, his beard and the look in his eyes would make one think he was a powerful warrior, but the way he treated people, and the way he seemed to react on the notice of battle, clearly showed that he had not much experience on the battlefield, nor did he have it leading troops, what, he remembered, he did, an they were all stationed outside the castle walls.
Thank you, sir. But I must ask now to go outside the city gates and bring my comrades in, so they can rest.[/b]
Said he, by the sound of his voice, it could be noticed that he seemed much worried when he talked about his company, what seemed surprising for some, not as much for others.
[OOC: Bah, forgive my dumb post. Feel quite lazy right now....just woke up >_<]

(OOC: Feel free to make a post describing your home in the "Wei Residences" board.)
*Damian, and even Gabriel, who was off in a far corner trying to remain out of the conversation, couldn't help but smile at the sudden transition in composure of Zhuge Jiao. From obvious nervousness of not knowing whether or not he was going to be accepted, to the unbridled pride of knowing you are now part of the team.*
"Of course, bring them in. A tired force is of no use to anyone. You will find that there is plenty of room, in and outside the city, for you to establish a place of living for yourself and troops… General Jiao? It’s Damian, not ‘sir’.”
*Damian waited until Zhuge Jiao was assuredly out of hearing distance, and then turned to Gabriel, who was already walking back towards where the pair was previously. Though, now both had a much more relaxed expression about them. Gabriel was the first to break the silence, which settled as the two seemed to be lost in their own thoughts.*
”Sometimes I wonder how everyone else is doing, you know?”
*Damian was momentarily startled, trying to figure out who ‘everyone else’ was exactly, until he fully understands the meaning of the statement. He nodded, unconsciously, before he spoke. The look in both men’s eye was easy to place, as it was the look all men thrown into war got when they had some momentary peace – remembrance. They were reminiscing about times when they were children, and war was the last thing on their mind, and what was for supper was of higher importance than kingdom safety.*
”Yeah… I’ve thought about trying to get in contact with some of them, but I don’t remember the address of our school… Do y…”
*Before Damian would finish the statement, Gabriel was already answering it. The pair could have easily passed as brothers, since they knew what the other was thinking, most the time, and had lived together for countless years.*
”Hah, way ahead of you. I’ve already talked to a couple, and a certain friend has said he’d come and visit us in the near future. Want to guess who?”
*A playful smirk played across Gabriel’s lips, as he wanted to hopefully excite and surprise Damian about who would be coming to visit. However, his spirits were dropped, like an anvil off a cliff, with the response he got from Damian.*
”Not really… I can wait…”
*Something was bothering him, Gabriel could tell. He looked completely normal, from anyone else’s point of view, except Gabriel’s. He would have asked what was up, like normal friends do, however, this was Damian; not your ordinary friend. He knew that whenever he was ready, Damian would come to him. Until then, he would just have to wait, and hope that Damian didn’t let it eat him up too much.*
”Well, you’ll definitely be surprised. I can assure you that.
*With that said silence once again absorbed the room. Damian sat at a desk, waiting for any others to come in who needed to be addressed, and Gabriel began to wander off towards his room in the palace, to rest since it had been over 24 hours since he’d last slept. He knew Damian should be doing the same thing, but also knew that he wouldn’t.*
