The army was ready, the troops awaiting only their command to be off, Sun Jian glanced around the Palace and needed only give his final farewells. He wasn't worried, Sun Quan was capable - and now that he was not alone Sun Jian had no fear that the kingdom would be in safe hands.
"Sun Quan, I shall see you soon - you are probally better than both me and your brother at running the kingdom, regardless I shall take you on a campaign soon enough. As for everyone else that has joined the kingdom I wish you well, and try and enhance the kingdom as best you can in our absence - or accompany us if you wish"
Sun Jian walked out of the castle - Sun Ce was not a person known for his patients, having to wait much longer could probally cause him to be half way to Xu Chang before Sun Jian realised he had gone. With one final glance behind him at the castle Sun Jian made his way out of the city, the army was to leave for Xu Chang immidatly!

*Sun Ce sat atop his white stallion, concentrating heavily on the voyage ahead. He still had not shaken from him mind the terrors he felt. Joining him was a man named Er Aorong, clad in heavy and fearsome armor. Though the two had never met, he knew this man was a devastating warrior. To Sun Ce's other side, Xilai Shao sat on his black horse, his spear in his right hand, held as if it were a large pencil. This man was such an undiscovered talent in China. He was a warrior deserving of the God's praise, yet he never had the chance to shine. Until Sun Ce found him when Jian was attacking Liu Yong.*
*Xilai Shao was a lowly officer in Liu Yong's army, and was under the famous Taishi Ci during the siege. Against orders from his commander, he opened the gates and charged out with only 300 men, against a couple thousand. It was a few minutes before Shao's first casualties was counted. And so, under order from Sun Jian, Sun Ce led his men to fight. That quickly turned into a duel, where the two fought on horseback. It didn't take long before Ce found out that was a mistake, as Xilai Shao was a fantastic horse rider, as well as a phenomenal spearman.*
*Sun Ce dodged a bullet when they discovered Shao would be killed upon return for disobeying orders, and that is when Sun Ce called out. He told Xilai Shao there was a position by his side in Wu, and that he could go down in history as a general in Wu, rather then have his name die with a pathetic feudal lord. Shao gave in, and left Liu Yong’s forces, joining Wu. He turned around, and they charged the gates together, causing so much death.*
*It was no coincidence that Xilai Shao was the one who captured Liu Yong, who was executed on the spot.*
*Now here they were, some years later, Shao had won many battles with his friend at his side. During that time, the man protecting Ce was also discovered. Zhi Liang was bandit’s guard, actually, when Sun Ce found him. They were ambushed, yet Wu’s main force was not far behind. They surrounded and killed the bandit, Zhi Liang fighting so hard to protect him. He almost gave his life when his master died, but Ce dissuaded him, taking him to Mo Ling as a guest of honor in the castle.*
*Long months passed where Sun Ce showed respect and friendship to this odd man. In the end, he pledged eternal loyalty to Sun Ce, to follow and protect him to his dying breaths. And up till now, that pledge has been honored.*
*Sun Ce caught glimpse of Sun Liao walking into the palace. Liao was his cousin, and the two had spent a lot of time together when they were younger. He would have gone and greeted him, but Sun Jian was approaching, and so he rode to him.*
“Father, it is finally time. Let us ride out!”
*The gates opened at their slow pace, as Sun Ce turned his horse around, speeding to the front, his companions at his side. He picked up pace as the gate opened fully, riding northwest, awaiting Jian to take the front. Sun Quan stood at the stairway to the Castle, a disgusted look on his face. Such a young naïve boy…*

Er was happy to see the army was ready to march. He was atop a horse he "borrowed" and made sure to keep close enough to protect Sun Ce but wanted to stay out of conversation range. He was ordered to watch over this man and didn't want to let his guard down for a minute. As they exited the gates he gave orders to his men. The were to wrap around the forces of Sun Ce to offer a small wall of protection in the case and enemy was to surround them. If it came down to it his men would charge out to hold the enemy long enough for Ce's forces to mobilize. He also ordered six of his mounted swordsmen to ride directly behind Ce himself. As they arrived at the lead of their armies Er was roughly 10 feet to Ce's left while the six guards were 5 feet behind him. While Er hoped this march would be uneventful he was prepared for it to turn out worse than that, and would carry out his duty with perfection.

And so the Wu army left the capital, Sun Ce was to lead the army - though the spot of grand commander was of corse Sun Jian's. He was not a man to let others do the fighting in any case, The number of troops they were taking from the capital was a little unerving....but the kingdom was in good hands - this was one things Sun Jian was sure of. As he mounted and set off after the rapidly departing army he knew at least his kingdom was safe in his absence. Of corse the real question was what would happen in Xu Chang, would Guo Jia stay true to his word?

Post by Lu Meng on Jun 12, 2006 17:18:44 GMT -5
Lu Meng sighed heavily. The world was changing all around him. Yesterday, he saw a poor peasant having his head kicked in by a particulary violent bandit. Being a thoughtful man, he saved his life. Then, a couple of days later, he heared of a rebellion up north, in his home town. Travelling up there, he found out that his fellow villagers had been needlessly slaughtered, ruthlessly, by the emn of the north western caves. Seeking revenge, he headed up there, and killed them all, feeling no regret at all.
In the present time, he was sat upon his horse, steering it around the twisting paths heading to Mo Ling. He had decided, after discussing it with his wife ( She really cared about his affairs, but it wasn't really her buisiness. ) That he should join Wu. A lot of thought had been put into this decision, and Meng was nervous, as he gained speed. Arriving at the gates, he went straight through them, seeing there was no sign of guards about.
Spotting the palace in the distance, he shifted his horse in that direction, and headed towards it. A couple of villagers waved at him. He touched his hat in return, and smiled. Leaving the friendly townsfolk behind him, he finally arrived at the beauty of a palace. Dismounting, he steps over to the right, to look for a place to tie his horse. Seeing as lonesome tree, he gets his horse, and ties it with a tight not.
Setting of at a brisk walk, he quicly scales the palace steps, and arrives at the top before he knew it. Peeking inside, he sees no guards patroling around this area. Hearing voices coming from down the hall, Lu decides to head that way, to ask for directions. When he arrives at the source of the voices, he expected guards. No guards. Meng had arrived at the throne room. At last. The Long journey from his hometown, he had made it. Butterflies had begun to form in his stomach as he stepped forward, and caught a quick glance at the man sat on the throne.
He could tell he wasn't the ruler, but nether the less, he would have to be some form of relative to Sun Ce. Most probably Sun Quan. Kneeling about 20 meters away to show respect, he speaks up, in a confident tone.
"[red] My lord, I would like to join your forces. This is why. I have lost a lot these past few weeks, including my whole village, burnt by people from the north. A couple of days ago, I was saved by a member of Wu. I don't know his name, but he saved me from death. I would like to give something back to Wu, as a sign of my gratitude. Will you accept my offer?[/red]"

*Sun Quan looked upon the man as he knelt before the throne in Mo Ling's astounding castle. He stroked his beard, feeling some pity for the man as he told his rather depressing story. As he finished, Quan nodded, waving his first two fingers at a guard near him. A feather pen and a scroll were delivered to Quan's hands in short time, and he began writing.*
"Sir, I hear your call, and I am only too willing to accept. However, you have missed your name. I am Sun Quan, son of Sun Jian and brother of Sun Ce, I am a Prince of Wu. Please take this doctrine, and with it you have a deed to land in or around Mo Ling and the right to our private councils. If there is anything you require of me, feel no hesitation to ask. My father, the rightful ruler, is away at Xu Chang to establish peace, so if my brother."

The doors of the palace swing open and a long shadow is cast as Zhang Yuan enters within. The sun outside was blazing hot and it was soothing to have the cool air of the palace interior on his face.
Walking toward the throne he could see a younger man upon it. Certainly this was not the great Sun Jian who was much, much older. Nonetheless, Zhang Yuan halts at a reasonable distance, to not offend, and lowers to one knee out of respect for the Sun family.
"I have come from the east to offer my allegiance and service to the kingdom of Wu."
Yuan lowers his head after saying this hoping that he would be able to gain the attention of such a famous man. Other great generals and strategists have already come before him so the bar had been set quite high. Soon the Sun family would know that they made the right choice once his skills were witnessed, that is if they accept the young warrior into their force.
"My twin blades are yours to command if you would honor me with a place in Wu's military."
Zhang Yuan rises to his feet and, after feeling a bit more comfortable, he speaks out again.
"I have with me a loyal group of men who would follow me to whatever end" the ronin says before continuing.
"They number 750 strong and one of the reasons for our coming here was that i have heard many great things about the Sun family."
"Wu's treatment of its peoples is legendary, which i respect more than anything, and i wish to become a part of the glorious history which is about to be written!"

*Sun Quan, who was again at the head of Wu's prestegious family with the absence of Jian and Ce, found yet another general kneeling before him. He was, indeed, lucky to be in such a position. Yet the stature of the man had proven something, giving him a sense of earned accomplishment.*
"Sir, please rise. It is tiring, seeing such men kneeling before you as if you are more important then they. I am Sun Quan, and I am no more than a Prince. I am no lord to you, nor anyone else here. That is my father, and possibly my brother."
*He rose, taking a note similar to that he gave to Lu Meng, and presented it to him. Within were orders, and other important information. He smiled, bowing to him.*
"Now, friend, I must retire to my quarters. I welcome you to my father's humble kingdom."
*He was in a much better mood then when Ce and Jian departed. Some could say it was the feeling of importance to his kingdom. Sun Quan was a man who liked the water always rippled, alwasy having something he needed fixed. He was calm that way, as it was now.*

Mo Ling...
The Bronze Spire Castle..
Zhou Tai walked into the old city in a fast pace, heading towards the Castle, where he hoped he would meet with any of the Sun. He had been absent for a time, but was back to once again serve Wu as a General, and Sun Quan's bodyguard when the need would come. Upon his entrance in the castle, several servants addressed him, then ran up to the throne room to announce him.
My Lord, Zhou Tai has arrived into the castle. He will be here shortly.
Said one of them in a high voice. Shortly after, Zhou Tai stepped into the throne room.
I am back... back to serve Wu again.
(I'll need a rank.. and stuff... then I'll be ready to serve Wu!)

From amidst the shadows beside the throne, a cloaked figure melded from the darkness. His eyes bore down upon the new coming individual. Shrouded in armor with a katana, that was the simple way to describe this man. Yet it was the aura in his eyes which screamed out the fact that he loathed war, breathed it and needed it to survive. A cold blooded killer…nice…. Nevertheless, Saerin merely stood before the throne in silence. Cold eyes still staring him down until a faint grin slithered up the side of his pale cheek. Out of view due to the expansive darkness that the cloak had provided him… [glow=blue,2,300] ”Quan. Welcome him back….” [/glow] He said nothing more, and in his opinion, Quan should not have been left behind to watch the throne or the city itself. His youth showed lack of experience and indecisiveness within certain situations. Somehow Saerin felt Quan would buckle when he learned that the city was under assault by some form of army when it came to such… A shifted gaze, then a glare towards the supposed ‘leader’ in Jian’s absence. This was was going to join the forces of Wu and lead such a force to victory in future battles. Not waiting for another answer, Sae turned back to Zhou Tai and nodded softly, the cowls of the loose cloak flowed within his movement before he spoke in that hushed and whispery tone which held its mystery… [glow=blue,2,300] ”Welcome back fellow comrade. I seek to see your skills within battle…” [/glow] With a stern glance to where Quan sat, Sae suddenly melded back into the shadows from whence he came...

Home. Zhang Jian was home, he was back in the vast expanse of land that the Wo Islanders called 'Middle Country'. He regarded the lavish palace in front of him with a dispassionate glance, wondering the amount of labourers who toiled to make such a place exist. No matter, he was not here to lecture on the virtues of shrewd accounting or thriftiness, he was here to offer his services. To try and bring back peace to the land... and if failing that create enough chaos until someone eventually succeeds...
He did not know who had ruled the land, but if the rulers seem to be genuinely concerned about the plight of the people, Zhang Jian was ready to lay down his life. With that thought in mind, Zhang Jian bowed as he announced his arrival. "I, Zhang Jian, am here to serve this fair kingdom."

*Sun Quan had come out as down broke into the horizon of the beautiful city of Mo Ling. He sat at the throne while this man, Zhang Jian, kneeled before him and requested entrance into the ranks of Wu. Quan nodded, and rose to his feet. He had no idea...*
"I welcome you fully to the kingdom of the Sun Family. Take this, and make yourself home here."

He noticed that there was another soldier kneeling towards a man sitting on the throne. Marr listenend in on thier conversation while leaning up against a wall.

*A pair of patrolling guards caught glimpse of Marr, who was suspiciously leaning against a wall while Sun Quan addressed Sun Huan. They would not interfere with this man's actions, but the questioned his motives, and kept a distant eye on him, to protect their lord.*
*Meanwhile, Sun Huan bowed before the throne, Sun Quan releasing a large smile and steped out to embrace Huan, a humble member of the Sun Family.*
"Ahh, cousin! It is good to see you here. I welcome you to Wu, please take this doctrine. Within, it gives you authorization to build an estate in the grounds around Mo Ling as well as giving you the spoken word to grant you to our council. I pray you find refuge in the palace, dear kinsman. When father and brother return from Xu Chang, I shall see to it that you are greeted with warmth."
