No, not as in time, but as in space or "area."
My mind is always stuck on the whole, "everything was created by something, and there is always something that contains another." As in a box contains a present, and the world/air contains that box, etc.

Space is nothingness, and nothingness may just go on forever in every direction. But the concept of 'forever' is impossible to grasp since cannot see or feel forever or taste forever or have an example of forever. Think of space as a blank canvas in which objects temporarily reside. Perhaps there are more canvases (universes, dimensions, etc. - and it is uber-likely!) however the universe, nay existence itself and the concept of life - is such a complex subject that it will never be truley known. Consciosness, existence, reality or lack there of, the universe - these are the mysteries that will not be solved, and if they ever were to be humans screwed their chance and missed the opportunity. Some people say jesus knew, others say nobody knows or ever knew, others say that the most ancient peoples, the "cave men" (who lived in huts ), or the pre-cave men had it figured out. Me? I think other animals have it figured out in a way that humans have lost as they floated towards decadence, piece by piece as tools became more valuable and agriculture rose, then industry and now technology as we know it. Whatever, wasn't this supposed to be about astronomy?

Well. The idea of "nothingness" is technically something. I mean "space" is a vacuum and that is something. Also, the universe doesn't have to be "forever." It could, actually, wrap around in some manner. I hate the idea of infinity - leaves far too many possibilities. Finite, best answer ever btw. Consciosness, existence, reality or lack there of, the universe - these are the mysteries that will not be solved. Always got 'The Matrix' theory - Nothing truely exists and yet it does anyway. But that's just bullshit. I mean, how can the existance of manipulation of the brain into forcing existance which in truth is actually false existance while your body is actually existing in reality and yet the existance of the false world the brain is placed in is actually in some way actually existance as it passes certain aspects of reality onto the body that is left in true existance? Or something. Existence is the existence of the perception of existing. ... Whatever.

Philosophical bullshit discussions, eh? Ok Here goes:
Space isn't nothingness. Scientific fact.
There is no such thing as a fact.
Nothing really exists.
People percieve things differently, and perception is the cause of everything.

Let's see... Is that an Ace Combat reference? And oh god! I wanted to cause a giant fireball like that! Science Officer! We need a bigger bomb! Yep. Anyways, while we are on the topic, does the universe go on forever? I'd like to here some of your opinions. I'll edit Xiong's post so it links to the image. Thats a hard question to answer... Its impossible for it not to end, but whats beyond it if it does? I hate you now Lyle...

I just threw my entire argument out the window in my second point, didn't I? (as in that's my point, not oh crap) To quote Peter Griffin: "That's getting old fast."
