Hold on, Napoleon was great. But I said boy not baby. He resented the French becausae they took over Corsica. Living until your 8th lifesyear doesn't make you a Corsican in heart and soul... Though that's my opinion.

Point, but like I said he resented the French, if memory serves he originally joined the military school to free Corsica, but was blinded by his own ambition and Megalomaniacal tendencies. I may be wrong on that though. And why aren't we bashing France anymore?

Hitler took over most of Europe, but do we praise him? No.
I just don't particularly care for Napolean. Not sure why, but he never came across to me as such a genius they say he is. If you want a genius, look at Hannibal Barca of Carthage. Crossing the alps in winter, coming out in Rome against a superior army and owning them.
How many people did that?

Attilla the Hun comes close But you're wrong on that Hitler thing. Some people do praise him for conquering Europe. Just not the Holocaust thing...

Yeah, but that guy was a damn good general, and the fact that he was a general of ROME gives him a slight advantage over Carthage. Any victory over Rome at that time is impressive, and any defeat is not very surprising.

Yeah, Rome was near invinsible at the time. Attila the Hun was rather lucky catching them at the time he did, but more power to him.

Catholics... Don't let me get started about them.
But I don't know for sure if Attila WAS indeed scared off... Maybe someone else knows it?
Personally I think he was not. He just took over Rome, not the Churches. Either way, Attila and his friends faded away through time and the Catholics still got into power. Doesn't mean shit...

I remember some barbarian invasion of Rome was scared off because the Pope went and spoke with the leader. The leader then retreated and never attacked again. Thoughgt it was Attila, but I guess not... oh well, it happened.

I'm sure it happened once. Western Rome was consrtant under attack or threat from surrounding hostile barbarian tribes. Sometimes the senators even bribed a barbaric tribe to not attack Rome.
And aside from that: The Pope Sucks!

Yeah, Erik. The old Catholic Church was just as bad as communism. Hard to imagine that they were the church of God.
