The center of Tian Shui. A tall fortified castle. Which only Zen officers or allies can enter. Or anyone else who has the crest of Zen. Inside the palace guards patrol the place always. Taking shifts at night. And in the throne room a golden dragon throne is always there for the ruler to sit on. But most likely the ruler has important work to do. Because almost everyone in the palace is never doing nothing.

The Palace of Zen, a pure feat of magnificence. Walking around in Tian Shui, Tenkai noted of the area around him and found it easy to move around. Originally arriving on the eastern shores of the Sun family's empire, Tenkai traveled by foot with his companion Ohatsu. They went north at first, aiming to head for the northern lords of Wei. Tenkai did not wish to join Wu, simply because he had been mistreated when arrived.
Once at the river that divided Wu and Wei, Tenkai and Ohatsu found that the northern people were obnoxious and cold blooded. Tenkai himself was col hearted, and somewhat evil and full of malcontent. However, he wanted to be different and stand out in an army. Being in an army that were the same as he, his presence would not stand out. So, he ventured west upriver and after departing with it, ventured into the lands of Zen. A new man seemingly from further west, Tenkai didn't wish to serve the man for one reason only. Not being Chinese originally, Tenkai wished to know of this country, and so went south once more.
Arriving in the lands of Shu, he found the villagers and guards pleasant. Although vicious and evil, Tenkai liked to be with nice people and in his own way used them. Realizing in the past two years he spent traveling the country, Cheng Du had been moved as Capital and moved to Chang Sha. Resting in the former capital for several months, Tenkai and Ohatsu then set out for Chang Sha. In less then a month they reached the new capital, that was growing fast.
After visiting Liu Bei, he had found that many officers had joined them in full array, so Tenkai decided this place was not his. They ventured back to Zen where they thought of the next best kingdom to join. Arriving at the palace of Tian Shui, Tenkai once again sent Ohatsu to make their house a home. Walking through the palace he looked around. A smell of royalty filled the room and it pleased Tenkai. Walking forward he bowed down near the throne, admiring the decor.
"Are you the one from the far west, Ba Zeng. I wish to ask a request of you, would you be so kind to listen?"

Time for Chaos
It had been a long and hard voyage to get to the north. After a small fight in the south, having angered another king Duosi fled to the north. THough he won the initial battle, he feared how long he would live. He wasnt a pure bred warrior... No he was a differetn breed compared to the rest of his people. One day he would return.
For now though he journeyed north. Towards the land of Zen, ruled by one Ba Zeng. He and his clostest troops, and his appointed "bodyguards" made there way to the main city, Tian Shui. A few miles out, near a mountain, he had his men make a camp. Wearing his raiding armor, and with simple northern robes on over top. He left his camp and made his way towards the city. He left his hammer at the camp, for he had no intentions of causing a fight in the city.
As Duosi Dawang made his way through the gates of the city he admired the bueaty that could be made with such limited resources. He bought a meal at a local tavern, and then went to an inn and got a room for the night. For the rest of that day Duosi wandered the city. Getting a feel for the people, and the things they do. He got word also of what type of man Ba Zeng was to the common man, for that was what mattered most to Duosi. How the people liked this man, was how Duosi would liek him.
Next morning after a long nights sleep he made his way towards the palace. It was a grand building. Like a diamond in the rough. It had such a different feel to it than the rest of the city. As Duosi entered the palace he allowed the guards to check him overm then entered the palace. He swiftly made his way to the throne room. As he entered he saw Ba Zeng upon his throne. King Duosi bowed low to Ba Zeng.
"I am humbled by your magnifence Lord Ba Zeng. I am King Duosi of the Nanman. I come today to ask that you give me solace in your kingdom. I left Nanzhong due to internal problems. I came to you. A great man... And not a fool like those others..."

It had been at least a year since Celestia began her search for her long lost uncle, it seemed to her endless. No matter where she traveled she found nothing but rumours of where her last remaining relative had been and the destruction and chaos he had brought with him. It was as if Celestia was following a trail of blood, a man so obsessed with death he did not rest and would never rest until all had fell victim to his cold steel. She would not lose heart though, her journey had taken her far and wide across the great plains, she had heard in an Inn that the man she sought had made an appearance in the far east. She wasted no time and set off as quickly as her shadowy black steed could ride. She had set off with no money and not even a weapon, she fled from many enemies and had no time to equip herself. Luckily she was used to living the hard life and she made money on her travels by completing odd jobs and of course the occasional 'favour' to bored rich nobles. It was not an ideal situation but it was the only way she could afford to eat. She had been given a pair of Metal Fans as payment for some work, at first she considered selling them but she soon realised how effective these fans were, they would become her weapon of choice in no time
It was like this she arrived in the lands of Ba Zeng and Zen. She wore silken black robes and embroidered on the back with golden lace was a woman with wings spread high. This was her symbol, the 'Golden Angel' who spoke to her in dreams became the embodiment of everything Celestia stood for. It was this Angel who gave her the courage to escape the evil grasp of her selfish Auntie and the perverted lord she spent four years of her life amusing. She wore long Black Boots that came up to her knees, her robe covered her entire body with the exception of a slit in the right and left sides which showed off her legs. Her hair was also black and it was fairly long, it was tied at the top restricting it so it did not get in her eyes as she rode on top of a magnificent Shadowy black horse that looked as strong as an Ox and as quick as the wind. She looked noble but not very wealthy, her clothes though fancy were of poor fabrics.
Her first stop in this strange new land was in the city of Tian Shui. She thought it a pleasant place and found the people to be warm and welcoming. She stopped in a local Inn for a few days gathering information from the locals. She asked them if they knew of a man called Mortiss who may have been around, but to no avail, it seemed her uncle had not visited this area before. She felt disheartened but her resolve did not change, she decided it would be a good idea to make some money before she left Tian Shui to the next city. She asked around the city for work but soon discovered that the real money was made by working for the lord of Tian Shui, Ma Teng. She decided to find out if this Ba Zeng was employing so she went to the grand castle.
The castle impressed her greatly, she could tell that Ba Zeng had a rich taste and must be a powerful man. Celestia had spent all her life working for 'powerful' men and women so this did not daunt her too much. Her only hope was that Ma Teng would not put her to work as a concubine or worse yet a servant girl. she had worked like this before and she did not want to do this again. However she needed the work and anything would suffice as long as she earned enough to continue on with her quest. She explained to the vigilante Guards of her business and was allowed entry and an audience with Ma Teng himself. She noticed the imposing figures of Tenkai and King Duosi and felt a little intimidated and almost like she was out of her league in the presence of such noble men. However she had come this far and could not leave without asking, she bowed low to the floor and hid her eyes from the gaze of those around her, she spoke in a meek but calm voice
"My Lord forgive my intrusion but I am looking for work, I am in desperate need of some coin, I am happy to do anything that you ask me too, I might not have any talents of which to speak of but I will give you nothing less than a hundred percent in whatever task you may have me do"

((Ba Zeng hopefully informed you that he isn't a force yet. Ma Teng still rules these lands, Zeng still has to take over, (which will be happening act 1, which is what we are in right now) Instead of using the old story line, we are playing it out at first. I'll edit your posts mentally, replacing Ba Zeng with Ma Teng. ) Ma Teng looked over the men, upon his grand makeshift throne. He was just infact visiting from Chang An, how luck he was, noting all of the bright, new faces placed in front of him. His casual, almost fearful face monitored those before him, reviewing those bright, nice faces, looking for the smallest mark, looking for a traitor,a spy, an assassin. His heart felt contempt, knowing now that they all were here to aid the West, and support the West and its very differently cultured people. Upon his throne he held a large general's sword, a magnificent weapon in which he wiled both power and respect, his iron like grasp ensuring it would never leave him. Such was the life of Ma Teng, and the way he ruled.. He looked upon those before him, speaking to them all, welcoming them with his deep, old voice.. "I fulfill requests for those that serve me, young warrior. I will put my life in the hands of any man or woman worth putting trust into, I consider you all to be such loyal souls!"
"A man from the south, I know your strength must be grand, you have traveled a far ways, I will answer your call, welcome to Qiang."
"With Chang An our Kingdom has limitless trunks of gold. I hear by instate that one shall be in your name, and will be filled every week, just like all of those that serve me! Well done, lead me to glory, you two!"

Lu Bu entered the palace. It was very Qiang-like,seeing how it was ruled by a mere Qiang would prove this.Zhao Ping and Lu Pu waited outside the entrance, guarding the palace for the time being.Lu Bu then threw his Trident Halbeard from the entrance to about 5 paces from Ma Teng.It stuck into the ground, which only the gods, like himself, could pull out.He handed his helmet to Zhao Ping and his cape to Lu Pu.He walked towards his Halberd, slowly, with his right hand on his sword. He looked around him, seeing those who were not worth his time. This proved how arrogant and how fatal his arrogance could be.
When he was 5 paces from Ma Teng,Lu Bu pulled the halberd out of the ground and held it in his left hand.Lu Bu then looked square in the eyes to Ma Teng.He would bow to no man, especially a barbarian. He grinned, beginning to laugh. He point his Halberd in the direction of the throat of Ma Teng.Lu Bu laughed aloud by now.To serve a barbarian is something he has never done.
"Ma Teng,a barbarian like you shouldn't be ruling a kingdom,or any land at all.You are not royalty, the only thing you are known for is being the relative of Ma Yuan. How do you plan to control the vast number of people in your area? How will you control a renegade"?
Lu Bu put his Halberd onto the ground. This was a test for Ma Teng. Was he worthy to have a partnership with a god?Barbarian or not,Lu Bu needed glory, power, battle, honor, and money. He needs to comand troops. Will Ma Teng accept a man such as Lu Bu?All of this was to be answered soon.

Shang Xi wlaks into the palace at Tian Shui with an air of confidence. He has no doubt that Ma Teng is the ruler he wishes to serve. he approaches the throne. He bowed deeply to Ma Teng.
Shang Xi: Lord Ma Teng, I am Shang Xi. I have come to serve in your force. I believe you are in need of advisors, yes? I am versed in strategy and politics and gladly offer my aid to you.
Shang Xi bowed again to the magnificent ruler. He waited for Ma Teng to answer before he said anything more.

Ma Teng was standing as the man entered, his eyes met the man, fear was within Teng's, yet finally when the man spoke the Qiang lord was reassured, he drew his sword and pointed at the man, peering into his soul..
"Indeed, we need minds to fight the west. Your eyes do not lie, you are welcomed into my forces.."

The Arrival of the Friends Two lone figures rode towards the city of Tian Shui, the capital of the Qiang kingdom of Ma Teng. The first figure, clad in silver armor with a red cloak billowing behind was the young adventurer and mercenary Gan Lung. Beside him also wearing silver armor with a blue cloak was his best friend and bodyguard Li Huxiang. Trotting his horse foward Gan smiled and gestured toward the city. "After a long journy we have finally reached the lands of Ma Teng, Huxiang" Lung said, his voice deep and resonant. "I am sure that Ma Teng will give me what I seek. The means to fufill my destiny as the strongest warrior in All-Under-Heaven!" "Do not be so hasty Hongqiu" Huxiang cautioned her friend in her lilting musical voice and using his style name. "First off see if Ma Teng will even take you in. Then make plans..." Gan made dimissive gesture and urged his horse foward "Ma Teng needs strong warriors and able officers to serve him in these dark times. I am such a man and our warriors are well trained, surely when he sees me Ma Teng will accept my pledge of fealty" he smiled and took off down the hill which he and Huxiang had been observing Tian Shui Shaking her head Li Huxiang urged her own steed to catch up with Gan Lung, but his prized steed, Huo Ma, was too fast. and it was not until they were well within Tian Shui that Li Huxiang was finally able to catch up with Gan Lung. Who laughed at the sight of his friend sitting on her horse like a freaked out peacock. "Gan if you do that again I swear I will hurt you..." Gan just laughed more and continued ride on through the streets. Before long the palace of Ma Teng was clearly visible. "Look Huxiang" Gan pointed out "There is the palace of the great Qiang, Ma Teng. It certianly fits her master. An imposing stronghold" While Li Huxiang seemed thoughtful Gan Lung rode out the rest of the way to the palace, causing some ruckus as Gan had a tendacy to ride recklessly. Finally the pair reached the palace where the guards stood at attention. When Li Huxiang rode up beside him Gan Lung made a nod to her to begin the routine they had rehersed back at camp. "Hail good guards!" she began "I am Li Huxiang and this is Gan Lung, my captain. He wishes to speak with the lord of this castle, having heard much of his great deeds, and wishes to serve him" After some talking with the guards they stood aside, allowing Gan Lung passage. After dismounting from Huo Ma and giving Li Huxiang orders to find a good stable for the horse, and lodging for them in case Ma Teng was too busy right now, Gan Lung entered into the palace. Almost immeadiatly the simple country bumpkin with in Gan Lung was awed by the richness of the palace of Ma Teng. Several times in face Gan nearly stumbled from not watching where he was going. Finally Gan reached the throne room. He looked over the room, looking at each of his fellow appiclants in turn. Then his gaze fell on an partictular imposing figure.'Lu Bu!' he thought in his head, fear running through his mind. Gan quickly took his gaze off the renegade and focused on Ma Teng and his throne. Gan felt his cofindence return he walked toward the dragon throne. He smiled. Lung apporoached catiously and bowed low to the ground "My lord Ma Teng! I am Gan Lung, I hail from within the regions of Wei, but I have no ties there anymore. For three years I have wandered throughout China with a company of my closest friends and comrades in arms. I search for a lord to serve that would give me my chance to show the world my might, and provide for me a way to achieve my destiny! Will you take me in your service my lord?"

(( NOTE TO ALL - By joining this Kingdom you are going to end up in Zen. I am not the Zen commander, Ba Zeng is. Once the plot moves he will take hold of these lands. PM him if you want to join him, if you joined Qiang go ahead and pm him for the camp password. He is quite busy with finals this week, so he may not be active.))
Ma Teng fiddled with his sword, swiping through the air as he made his way down from his thrown, looking to the men before him, their power rising up the heavens along with Teng's grand stallion forces. He laughed, noting Cao Cao would forever be sealed with these actions. With his friend to the south, forever would the East be tarnished in blood, their strongholds eventually belonging to the powerful West in the future. With his cultured, bold and deep voice he set out upon the men, speaking fluently with his northern tongue.
"I will have you all by my side in these enduring times. Cao Cao knows he can no stand alone against our cause. And with my grand friend, Xuande in the south, Wu will be far too caught up in war to even think of aiding the Cao family. And thus, we will have our war. Our horses will ride upon their mountains, steal through their gates and rip across their rivers. We will tear a hole so grand, so large within their pitiless lives that they will fall through and never return again!"

Gan Lung felt his spirits rising at his acceptence by the King of Qiang. The speech the man gave, powerful, resonated with Gan. He shot up and with his hands clasped before him, and with multiple bows said "My lord! I thank you for accepting me! I long for the day to come that bring the end of Wei! I am eager for this war! Gan Lung stands ready to serve!" As the heat with in his blood died down Gan suddenly remembered something of great importence "My lord what of my former comrades in arms, my soldiers? Will they too be allowed to join you?
