It had been another day in chaos, like every other day before it. Ever since he was brought into the world, he had known the discord that divided the land and those that lived within it, and as soon as he was able to hold a weapon long enough to practice with it, the young Cao known as Zixiao had trained, preparing his body and mind for the oncoming challenges that awaited him when he reached adulthood. In time, he become proficient with his blade, but he had known that ever since he was a small boy he would never equal the mental prowess of his cousin, the very man that he now served, and though Zixiao was not one to dwell upon his flaws to great and ultimately negative excess, this knowledge was but a part of the greater context that compelled him to seek service rather then leadership in his family. Mengde would need far more then even his own great cunning and ambition. Even as he reached for the heavens with his own strength, his cause had need of strong sword arms to bear the weight. In the peace of the new world that his cousin sought to create, Zixiao saw the need for strength and family, two of the truly eternal forces that served as the both the foundation of said peace, and the vigilance that would guide and protect it, allowing it to last the ages.
Of course, it needed not to be said that in times of chaos, having strong sword arms to assist in the conflicts and fight for the peace that needed to be created was a boon as well.
"There it is father, the city of Ye."
The voice belonged to his son Yi. It was a voice of youthful timbre, however the energetic nature of his rather active son did grant it a more mature sound. Like his father, Yi wished to enter the service of his family, fighting alongside them in the chaos and standing proud as one of the champions of peace. It had, in point of fact, been the reason that Zixiao had left the Wei capital in the first place, to journey to Xu Chang and collect his son in order to present him to his lord and request that the boy be permitted to serve under himself.
"Indeed Yi, this is the greatest of cities in the Hua Bei region, a great financial and cultural capital, one befitting the powerful man that guides it. Of course, you have yet to see the marvels of the city itself, which is quite ornate."
Yi would get a chance to see it soon enough. Having grown up in Xu Chang and Chen Liu, the boy was used to the hustle and bustle of city life, however Zixiao was certain that the sheer scale that existed in Ye would truly surprise and awe him. He himself was still awed by what was in essence the culmination of the wealth and power of the entire Hua Bei region manifested in the form of a single city.
They approached the southern gate, which in earlier times had guarded the city governed by Han Fu and later Yuan Shao from the lords of the Central Plains, though now that both regions served Wei diminishing the memory of those who were lost to history. As the primary gate for all travel from southern Wei, the gate itself saw much use in a day, with a plethora of citizens representing every trade and practice conceivable present. Zixao could only guess at how many entered the city, and could not imagine how involved the job of those that stood guard at the gate itself might be.
Even in light of such prosperity, what he truly admired was the discipline of the men who defended the city. Though clearly dealing with a veritable throng of people, the men at the gates, as well as the sentries that stoically patrolled the walls handled themselves in such a laudable manner of conduct that it left little doubt in his mind as to whom among the kingdoms of the land was superior.
"Greetings," he articulated to the guards at the gate as he saluted. His son, he was pleased to note out of the corner of his eye, did the same, standing silently to the right of his father. "I am Cao Zixiao and this is my son, Cao Yi. We seek entry into the city that my son and I may continue our service to the Kingdom."

Xu huang rode up to the massive gate. Of course it was closed due to the troubled times. He rememberd when the gates would be open to everyone wether from the kindom of wei, wu, or shu. So he rode close on white shadow with Jiang Pu to his side. When he saw that people we starting to gather at the site of the new visitor, Xu took a deep breath and rode with a 'cocky' posture. People were starting to get loud as Xu got closer. They then realized who was approaching. They then began to yell with joy. He then yelled to them and they got silent, beside for the normal baby's cry.
"People of Ye, put in a good word to your lord. I wish to serve wei, and give my life to it. More, give my life to you, the people that give us a purpose in this struggle for safety. I, Xu huang and my blood brother Jiang Pu, will give our sword and axe to this cause."
They then both raised their weapons and the people began to cheer.
"Times are good Pu, times are good"

After days of travel, the officer had finally got to the gates of Ye, which, he heard, was the capital of the forces of Wei, which he was desiring to fight for. He soon noticed that there were many guards looking at his small company, ready to take their bows if necessary.
He smiled and unmounted his steed, that now was beside him, and as he took some steps forward, he slightly bowed his head towards the soldiers on the gate.
I wish to speak to you lord, so I may require to put my humble services at his will.[/b]
He then went back towards his troops and mounted, turning to the gates once more and waiting for a reply.

*The soldiers at the gate heard the request, and quickly sent one of their own to the palace to see whether this officer had the right of passage. It took no time at all for the messenger to return, and announce the response from the palace.*
[Guard] - "The Lord and Lady are currently unavailable. However, Prime Minister Damian has allowed your entrance into the palace to speak with him. Your soldiers will have to remain here, until we've been informed of your acceptance. Then, they will be granted access to the city."
*As the guard spoke, the gates of Ye opened wide enough for Zhuge Jiao to ride through on his steed. The guards atop the walls watched closely. With the rumors of Xu Chang falling, the guards were on strick orders about allowing anyone through with escorts.*

He watched as the gates opened, before looking back to his troops and smiling, he began to ride forth, only looking back after a while and telling his comrades.
I shall be back quickly, you all must be on high alert to any suspicious personel.[/b]
After speaking, he kept going, quickly entering the city as he kept looking around, admiring the structures there.
[Entered the city]

After being accepted into the Wei, he first needed to let his troops into the city, so he went directly towards the Gates of Ye, where he talked to a soldier, who, after a while ordered the gates to be opened, and Jiao went towards his men asking them to mount once more, and soon after, they were into the city once more.
